GENERAL:

The Greeley-Weld County Airport is owned and operated by the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority, a wholly independent Political Subdivision of the State of Colorado.  As an independent governmental entity, the airport is governed by an independent Board of Commissioners, whose goal is simply to manage and develop the Greeley-Weld County Airport in a manner which is in the best interest of the Greeley and Weld County community.  The Airport Authority was formed in 1978 by the City of Greeley and Weld County, under powers granted through State of Colorado legislation.

AIRPORT BOARD:

The governing body of the airport is the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority Board of Commissioners.  The Board, under the authority granted through its By-laws, consists of seven members.  Four seats on the Airport Board are reserved for local elected officials, two from the Greeley City Council, and two from the Weld County Board of Commissioners.  The remaining three members are citizen appointees.  One citizen is appointed by the City Council, one by the Weld County Board of Commissioners, and the third is a jointly appointed citizen representative.

BOARD MEETINGS:

The Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority Board of Commissioners meets monthly on the third Thursday at 3:30 P.M. unless otherwise posted.  All meetings are held in the Airport Authority Conference Room located inside the Airport Terminal Building, 600 Airport Road, Greeley, CO., unless otherwise posted.  All meetings are open to the public.  The Board occasionally holds special meetings, notice of which is posted at least three days in advance of the meeting.

AIRPORT STAFF:

The Greeley-Weld County Airport is professionally managed by a full time staff who are responsible for the day to day and long term operations, maintenance, planning and development of the airport facility.  These individuals are in the direct employ of the Greeley-Weld County Airport Authority.
