Drone/UAS Operations

Flying Safely

Are you looking to fly your drone near the airport? Here are a few Do's and Don'ts provided by the FAA to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.
  • DO fly a model aircraft/UAS at a local model aircraft club
  • DO  take lessons and learn to fly safely
  • DO  contact the airport when flying within 5 miles of the airport
  • DON'T fly near manned aircraft
  • DON'T fly beyond the sight of the operator
  • DON'T  fly an aircraft weighing more than 55 Lbs unless it has been certified by an aeromodelling community based organization
